Recent meetings of persons interest in the future of the Mt. Tom Range, the Mt. Tom State Reservation in particular that is located on the northern and most prominent ridge line of the range, has addressed concerns as well as opportunities to insure the following:

1. Preserve the range largely as undeveloped open space

2. Increase awareness of its extensive plant and animal habitat

3. Improve management and maintenance

4. Initiate a partnership with the five abutting cities

5. Engage families and youth

6. Take ownership. It’s our land. Lend a hand.
