Meet-ups with persons interest in the future of the Mt. Tom Range, Mt. Tom State Reservation in particular, has pointed to concerns as well as ways to insure the following:
1. Preserve the range largely as undeveloped open space
2. Increase awareness of its extensive plant and animal habitat
3. Improve management and maintenance
4. Initiate a partnership with the ridge-line’s five abutting cities
5. Engage families and youth
6. Take ownership. It’s our land. Lend a hand.
Hi Joe,
Sorry to not have responded sooner.
Thanks for your feedback. Do you live here in Western MA? I ask because ideally we should meet at Mt. Tom State Reservation to hike the Bray Valley Trail. I have plans for another bog bridge, as well as trail work.
Will then tell you more about efforts to start a Friends Group.
Let’s get together soon,
Elbert
